Breaking News:

Leadership Key Events

Over the course of my time at Virginia Tech, I have been able to experience many different organizations and moments that have developed my leadership abilities and test myself as a leader.  Although there has been so many different memories, there are three that stand out and have made me the person that I am today.  These three key events are:

During my freshman year, I campaigned and was elected to serve as the Female Member-at-Large for the Class of 2015.  This experience has opened the door to so many opportunities like being a member on the Ring Design Committee, being a member of the Student Alumni Associates, and being selected as a speaker for our 2015 Commencement, which have allowed me to be surrounded by some of the best peer leaders and role models.

Secondly, I was selected to serve as an Orientation Leader (OL) during the summer of 2015 and assist the incoming freshman.  This was such a rewarding experience because I saw how much of a difference that I could make on all of my orientation students and also saw how much they changed me.  This experience also lead me to meet 23 of my best friends and spirited Hokies.

My last key event was being choosen to be on the Virginia Tech Homecoming Court.  This experience not only celebrated Virginia Tech's Homecoming tradition, it honored the involvement and dedication to VT for the candidates on the Homecoming Court.  This event was unique because it took a lot of leadership to get my sponsoring organization, Alpha Phi, excited, involved, and informed about Homecoming.  However, it taught me a lot about myself and helped me become the leader I am today.
